I’ll be honest, I was having severe Bloggers Block, then I started playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas again so I thought I would tell you all about my favourite Video Games. I’m a huge video game fan, particularly of open world games and they are so enjoyable as well as being a huge part of Diversion. I will start with number 5.
5. The Sims
I adore the Sims. I’ve been playing the Sims since the first game and the only reason it’s number 5 is because it’s PC based and simulation games aren’t rated by others as much. I also go through fits and stages with Sims. I’ll play non stop for about six months and then stop- and fall in love with it again the next year or something. My favourite Sims Game would have to be Sims 2, by far. I’m absolutely gutted I can’t play this game anymore as it only works on Windows XP. All the stories and conspiracy theories from the Sims 2, such as who kidnapped Bella? Are the reasons why that game is the absolute best. If you can’t get Sims 2 to work on your system; the good news is that the Sims Life Stories, Pet Stories and Castaway Stories are all laptop friendly and will work on any laptop system other than MAC. If you enjoy open world roaming; you will adore the Sims 3. If you want to get a little bit more creative in build mode, the Sims 4 is the one for you.
4. Grand Theft Auto: 5
Let’s be honest, in 2013 everyone was crazy over the release of this game. People were queing at Midnight outside Game just to get a sweet taste of Rockstars’ longest developing game to date. With the new additions of three main protagonists, the options were endless. We are aquainted with Hood Rat from behind the Grove, Franklyn who is rumoured to be CJ Johnson’s Son from San Andreas. However, due to his position in GTA Five, more people presume he is related to Sweet Johnson. Then there’s Michael, a billionaire who is living the witness protection program life up in Rockford Hills. His Trophy Wife Amanda is sleeping with the Tennis Coach, his Daughter Tracey is desperate for some 90210 action and his son Jimmy is useless and trying his hardest to be an irritant. Adding the family aspect to the game made it more realistic, but also a view from a higher class system. Then there’s Trevor; completely mentally unstable, definitely a socio-psychopath with attachment obsession issues. However, it was super fun to play. Spoiler: you have to kill one of them off at the end. I killed Trevor because he was annoying.
3. Life is Strange
Life is strange is based on the butterfly effect- the effect where every action creates another consequence and so the cycle continues. Set in a high school, the Game follows Max Caulfield, a photography student, who has the ability to rewind time and stop certain things from happening which causes a Storm. You meet several memorable characters, including the lovely Chloe who makes you instantly want to dye your hair blue. The game will make you cry and has the worst Villain in the world, but it’s a game that will change you and the way you look at things for a while.
2. LA Noire
LA Noire is an incredible game and switches the border between movies and games. You follow a 1940’s cop as he solves Mysteries around L.A. It’s like GTA, but it’s more interactive, it’s based around an old Noir film which is where the game gets its deserved title.
1. Sleeping Dogs
Sleeping Dogs is an open world game set in Hong Kong where you are an undercover cop named Wei Shen, your job is to infiltrate the triads where you reunite with your old friends, whilst doing your job. The location research took six months for sleeping Dogs and it’s so worth it. Give it a quick google, the graphics are incredible.
So there is a quick post about my favourite games of all time, I’ll be doing some more in detail but for now, that is my reccomendation list. Comment below if you’ve played any of these!
